Welcome to Walking on the Earth! The title of this blog comes from Barbara Brown Taylor’s book “An Altar in the World.” Taylor writes of being grounded and connected to the earth and how that can transform your life. Here is a quote:
“When someone asks us where we want to be in our lives,
the last thing that occurs to us is to look down at our feet and say,
‘Here, I guess, since this is where I am.'”
I strive to be Here at all times, to not look back with regret or look forward with worry. I want to notice the budding flowers in the spring and and dying leaves in the fall. I want to breathe in soft, wet, rainy air and not concern myself with disruptions rain can bring. I want to praise and thank God every day, every minute for such a glorious earth and for the miracle of walking on it.
This blog will be thoughts on the changability of life and how we handle it. It will focus on family, faith, nature, community, humor, design, meditation, recipes, random acts of kindness, music, books.
Thanks for reading.
